This swap is all about fortune cookies and their sayings. I found a bunch of fortunes mixed in with my smaller ephemera and thought it would make a cool ATC. So, I've tried a few and think it would be a great swap.

You will have two partners and create two ATCs for each (total of four).

Here are the requirements:

  • send each of your two (2) partners two (2) ATCs. That's a total of four (4) ATCs.

  • ATCs should be standard size (2.5 x 3.5 in)

  • Use any medium/color palate you wish

  • Each ATC should include a fortune/message from a fortune cookie

If you do not have fortune cookies or easy access to them, I know there are stickers made to look like fortunes (cuz i have them)... or you can make one yourself. (go to www.chinese-fortune-cookie.com for inspiration if you choose this option).

I just read a mag. article about how the fortunes for cookies consumed in america have to be "happy". Basically, the article said that in the asian countries, people will accept the good with the bad, but that americans only want happy news. are we such wimps in this country that a "bad" fortune cookie is unbarable? how bizarre!

I am glad that the fortunes in America are good. I can just see myself happy, fat and sassy after eating sweet and sour pork, with fried rice and egg rolls, then opening up my fortune cookie to read, "you will have great sorrow in the next year". I thnk I would lose my dinner. I think it is good that we Americans like to think positive thoughts. I am so proud to be an American!
