Description:

For this swap, you will buy one notebook/journal/etc. or make one! It must be at least 5x7 size notebook, no mini notebooks please!! With this "journal" you will do the following:

  1. Decorate the outside (if it's plain, or add to it to make it pretty!) and inside of the journal. Make use of all that washi tape lying around. Add photos, stickers, quotes, etc! Make it pretty and interesting to read and look at. Make sure your journal is at least 5x7. We don't want mini journals.
  2. You will write an entry to your partner once a day at least, but feel free to write more than one entry a day if you have many thoughts! You will do this for a month, then send your swap. Entries can be about your day, quotes how you're feeling, inspiration, a poem or story you wrote, etc. Just WRITE something at least once a day. MAKE SURE EACH ENTRY IS AT LEAST A PAGE LONG!
  3. Make the entries personal to you, but make sure that it has some curiosity to it. Make your partner WANT to read it! :)
  4. When you're all done, go over your journal to make sure it has all that is required and make some perfections to it. Then mail it to your partner along with your swapbot username and something personal from you, whether that be a note or a small token! <3

Is it 5x7 or 6x9 for the minimum size? I'm confused, as it shows both options.

Also, as a clarification, this is just written entries? No extras required?

When you say "Decorate inside of journal", do you mean every page along with our writing for a month or do you mean just decorate the inside cover?
And the size of the journal is it a 5X7 or 6X9?

Sorry about the confusion. At least a 5x7. And just written entries, or you can type them and cut and paste into the notebook. Basically at least an entry of some type of writing each day. Almost like keeping your own journal. MamaPorche, as far as decorating the inside I mean decorating some of the pages as well. You don't have to go all out every page, but just at least some sort of art on each page or every other. Don't make it just plain writing :) You could add some washi tape to decorate, or a photo of you or things you like. You could doodle, etc. Get creative with it :)

What is an altered book? Please describe. For only a 5x7 notebook, front and back isn't too much to ask for:)

You can do writing on one side of the page and doodles or a quote on the other side as one entry. You just need a front and back per one entry! It's up to you to decide what to do with it :)

An altered book is where you take a regular book and use it as a journal. You write in it. I glue blank pages into it to write on. Most books are 5 X 7, so it fits the size requirements. I sure I would have no trouble writing that much, having done nanowrimo for the last three years.
