This swap is for anyone who has kids/babies - or knows someone who will soon have a baby - or just simply wants a different type of cd.

I am not a mother, nor am I planning to be for sometime - but recently it seems that my friends are all popping out kids :) I wanted to do something special/different for them. I decided to make a mixed cd of music that I thought the kids should know or would be soothing enough for them to listen to. I picked songs with meaningful lyrics, or a nice melody. I tried to stear away from "baby" songs or kiddie songs -

So then I thought - Why not make it a swap??

  1. Make a cd with young listeners in mind. Keep the songs "clean" - but dont make them nursery rhymes (unless its a new modern version). Keep in mind the caretaker (whoever that might be0 will have to listen to this music as well...so it shouldn't be annoyingly cutesy :)

  2. CD should have atleast 12 tracks.

This is going to be so much fun! I have four kids ranging in age from 14 years old to two years old. They love music! Esp. my two year old. He is a wanna be rocker!

Kimmie, I love love love the letter AND the CD. I was reading the song list to my cousin and I was like OMG THERE IS THIS SONG, AND THIS ONE! Every song rocks. :)

I just apologized to my swap partners for sending late. We're in the middle of selling our house in one city and moving to another so had it mixed and packaged, just forgot to mail it. (duh!)

I would love, love, love to see the playlists from other people's mixes. To get inspiration for future mixes for my music-loving toddler.

Should we post them here? The picture gallery might not let the playlists be readable.
