8th August 2021 is International Cat Day or World Cat Day as some countries call it.

Did you know that a cat was the mayor of an Alaskan town Talkeetna for 19 years until his death in 2017? Or that the richest cat in the world had £7 million? The cat inherited the money when his owner died in 1998 and left a good portion of his fortune to his beloved pet. ( source )
