Has everyone in the group made a glue book page? If not, let me explain the concept...a glue book is a scrapbook of sorts featuring the art of collage, but with a twist. No dimensional embellishments are allowed; glue book pages are comprised of only paper and such embellishments as paint, stenciling, die cuts, spatters, and so forth. I encourage you to check out the pages created by Constance Rose and Margarete Miller for examples of this art form and for inspiration. Let's go with a 4x6-inch format, using a firm yet flexible backing such as mid-weight cardstock or a manila file folder...these are meant to be glued into an existing journal or notebook, so we don't want a thick or rigid backing. For this first page, I've chosen a "birds and berries" theme. Next up will be a cardinal theme. | |
