Description: | |
For this swap, you can either photocopy a page from your favorite book or use an actual book page if you like (I personally prefer the latter). Black out all but a few words creating a poem from the words. You may add embellishments, or draw/doodle on the page in between the blackouts, but it IS NOT NECESSARY. :) Use of books printed in languages other than English is acceptable. Please write an English translation upon the page containing the written poem. PLEASE NOTE: You will NOT put your info on the back of this page. You will create a second page to add the words of the "final" poem you've created, your swap-bot name, date, & location (you can go as detailed as your city, but state and/or country will suffice, so we know where it's coming from). This way, both pages go side by side in your partner's journal to keep. You will have 2 partners and will send a different blackout poem to each of them (you can always send more if you feel inspired). Pages should be no larger than composition book size (approx 7.5 inches x 9.5 inches) and no smaller than postcard size (approx 4 inches by 6 inches). You can decorate if you wish, but it is not a requirement. I am noting this a Type 3 swap due to the work involved in the creation of these blackout poetry pages. DO NOT fold the pages when mailing! Use your imagination and have fun! Send something you would like to receive. If you've never done this before, have a few fun & easy tutorials... Example #1 Or you can google "Blackout Poetry" for many examples... NOTE: This swap is NOT partner-specific (unless you choose to do it that way), so you can start working on your pages as soon as you sign up. Note: We will NOT actually mail journals around, but we will decorate our own journals to paste our received poetry into. Please use a book that is at least composition notebook size, as that should be about the right size for any of the swaps you get. This is a repeating swap, and I will host at least once a month as long as there is interest. I don't tolerate flakers & late senders without prior communication lightly. I will angel if necessary. Please DM me with any issues. |
