This is such a great idea for a swap! I love knitting socks... There is a great sock pattern in the new issue of Interweave Knits mag. it's knit from the toe down....It took me a little bit to get the hang of it, but once I did it became the easiest, best pattern ever....you should check it out!! ~Amanda

I have never knit socks either, and am quite nervous about this, but I'm bound and determined to try!

I have very sensitive skin, so if the yarn is wool, it must be the VERY soft kind of wool.

Oh, I guess you might also need to know my shoe size. I wear a US size 9-10. My foot seems to be approximately 10.25 inches or so in length.

Good idea! Thanks I wear a medium sock (average ladies size) but I do have pretty wide calves, if that matters... my ankles are small but up the calves my legs get extra wide. (eep! they are 15 inches!!)

My foot is 21.5 cm. Shoe size 35-36 in Europe.

okay! i wear a size 9.5/10 or 40/41. A tip: if you think it's not big enough, it probably isn't! In sock swaps, the socks I get never fit me so I'd love it if these are big enough.
I don't need superwash, but I do love wool!

I received my socks yesterday (but was out of town so couldn't rate until now) and they're awesome! I'll upload a photo to my blog tonight or tomorrow.

Well, I did not finish my socks yet but I'm done with the first one and am on the second. I changed my mind on the yarn and pattern. So, speaking of being on the second sock...back I go!

I have completed your socks, and I mailed them this morning! I KNITTED MY FIRST PAIR OF SOCKS!!! YAY!!!

mmmontserrat, I can't thank you enough for this swap, and for your willingness to be so accommodating with start and end dates. I'd probably still be waiting to take the plunge into sock knitting if it weren't for you and this swap!
