Postcard Polaroid

Here's one for Polaroid lovers everywhere! In this swap, you take 3 Polaroids or other instant prints and mail 1 print to each of your partners as a postcard. You may paste an address label on or throw the rules out the door and write directly on the front or back of the print.

This swap is open to newbies or anyone with a 4.5 rating or better.

(No digital prints, inkjet prints, lab prints, or contact print - these have to be original one-of-a-kind Polaroid or other instant prints. A Polaroid image transfer or emulsion lift is okay, because it's a one-of-a-kind original.)

WOW I am so in love with this idea but I'm terrified that the USPS will somehow manage to jack everything up and not send them or something.

Not that I'm going to let that stop me from signing up!

Agh, I ache so much to join this swap, but I'm afraid when my family moved, my parents put my polaroid cam somewhere. I'll have to pass on this swap and go cry in the corner now :(

Have you tried checking your local thrift stores? I've come across numerous perfectly good 600 cameras for less than five bucks!

A word of advice - it's probably better to not put a return address on the Polaroid if it's smaller than 3.5 x 5... It seems to depend on which post office, who happens to be working that day, etc. If there's no return address, my experience is that they will go ahead and send it (and the note about it being too small) to the addressee.

Emily, .Dianna., and kassrose...your "postcards" are in the mail from California. I find myself worrying a bit, like Emily posted about, that they may not make it through the system. I did as you suggested, Dianna, no return addy. Our Postmaster here is a bit of a control freak, so I'm crossing my fingers that they find their way to you three! I'm happy to report that I got all three of mine just fine, although the post office did decide to put one of them in an envelope ... I think because a little bit of the developer had leaked out. Otherwise, they came through great!

I sent mine out yesterday (to nanvan, Dianna, and andenchanting). I hope they make their way through the system safely!
