Support a great cause with a FABULOUS haircolor!

Eva Markvoort died at 26 from complications related to Cystic Fibrosis. She chronicled much of her life and death in her blog, 65redroses. here's a link Eva received a double-lung transplant in 2007 and the donation of those organs allowed her to live for a number of wonderfully free months. Unfortunately, she succumbed to chronic organ rejection and died hoping to receive a second transplant.

In her honor, people all over are invited to dye their hair bright red!

For this swap you will dye your hair red and send a picture of yourself (and your hair) to your partner. You will also post a picture to the group's flickr photo pool so we can create a collage of people from around the world who are helping to spread Eva's legacy!

Recognizing that not everyone can (or wants to) dye their hair red, you can also wear a red hat, bow, headband, clip-in extension or other red hair accessory for your photo. Whatever you choose to do, when anyone comments on it, please talk to them about the importance of organ donation!

Everyone is welcome to join this swap! Please invite your friends from outside swap-bot to join (or to simply post photos on flickr) so we can create a fabulous collage.

Ratings will be based on whether you receive a photo from your partner and the awesome-ness of your partner's red hair (or accessory).

This is a great idea. One of my friends has a child with CF, and I follow a couple of blogs of people who've received organ transplants (one with CF, the other without). Michigan has made it much simpler to indicate organ donor preferences on our driver's licenses.

i lost my son luke at the age 16.. 7 years ago..i said yes to donate his organs. to help others to live and see. he also lives on

I thought about more partners, but I really want to encourage people to try to bring in their non-swap-bot friends (since it's fun to have RED hair and it's a good cause) and I thought one partner might make it easier for brand-new people. I'll be sure to send out the completed collage to everyone.
