I make a fold up tote to carry in your purse or pocket, but it doesn't come with a bag to carry it in, Is that a requrement?

if handmakeing i cant see a problem .that will be fine.as store ones mostly come in those small bags.

Does it matter what material the bag is? I bought a shopping bag which is in a small bag... I'm not sure what is exactly a tote bag.
